This paper explores a new path for answering the question of whether Kant’s mature philosophy is to be taken as a form conceptualism. In contrast to the overall tendency of the scholarship on the topic, this question is answered by considering the logical terminology of Kant’s times and, in particular, how the term ‘judgement’ was used by the Wolffians. By considering the Transcendental Deduction against this background, I argue that Kant is to be taken as a ‘strong conceptualist’ in the specific sense that the term has within Kant scholarship.

Abstract
This paper explores a new path for answering the question of whether Kant’s mature philosophy is to be taken as a form conceptualism. In contrast to the overall tendency of the scholarship on the topic, this question is answered by considering the logical terminology of Kant’s times and, in particular, how the term ‘judgement’ was used by the Wolffians. By considering the Transcendental Deduction against this background, I argue that Kant is to be taken as a ‘strong conceptualist’ in the specific sense that the term has within Kant scholarship.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
