The article highlights the specific contribution that scholars belonging to the scientific-disciplinary field of the History of Political Institutions have made over the last thirty years to some of Italian journals of contemporary history («Contemporanea», «Italia contemporanea», «Memoria e Ricerca», «Società e Storia», «Spagna contemporanea» e «Studi Storici»). It also identifies key research on the history of institutions that has been published there.
