Today, artificial intelligence plays an increasingly pervasive and decisive role in relationships. The success of dating apps and web-mediated encounters has quickly led to a demand for even more sophisticated and promising AI functions. Conversational chatbots are practically capable of replacing humans, whether professionally or romantically. It is therefore necessary to ask the right questions in order to address, without excessive fear but with the right awareness, a sort of intrusion of algorithms into the most intimate spheres of human beings. This article attempts to illustrate the current situation by analyzing the answers already available and the open questions.

L’intelligenza artificiale, oggi, riveste un ruolo sempre più pervasivo e determinante anche nelle relazioni. Il successo delle app di dating o degli incontri web-mediati ha presto domandato funzioni ancor più sofisticate e promettenti all’IA. I chatbot conversazionali sono in grado, praticamente, di sostituirsi alla figura umana; che sia professionale o vicina dal punto di vista sentimentale. Occorre, pertanto, porsi le domande adeguate a riuscire ad affrontare senza eccessivo timore, ma con la giusta consapevolezza, una sorta di intrusione degli algoritmi nelle sfere più intime dell’essere umano. Il presente contributo tenta di illustrare la situazione attuale, analizzando le risposte già presenti e le domande aperte.
