The chapter clarifies the value of mixed-methods research in terms of the epistemic benefits of a variety of evidence. It distinguishes three rationales for variety of evidence: triangulation, integration, and security and connects them to some of the prominent frameworks for mixed-methods research advanced in political science. Finally, it dispels worries about feasibility of mixed-methods research.
