La didattica del russo commerciale come lingua straniera dalla Perestrojka ad oggi

This study situates itself within the research on the didactics of languages for specific purposes, with particular attention to the teaching of Business Russian as a Foreign Language from the Perestroika period to the present day. The aim of the contribution is twofold: on the one hand, it seeks to highlight the changes that have occurred in the conception and uses of the linguistic variety under analysis; on the other, it intends to reconstruct the evolution of the language teaching practices through which, over time, a highly standardized linguistic variety — at the lexical, morphosyntactic, structural and pragmatic levels — has been presented. This approach also takes into consideration the relationship between the concept of professionalization of education and the teaching of languages for specific purposes. Through an historical-descriptive approach applied to a corpus of textbooks for foreign learners, published in Russia and in Italy, the study highlights how in the late Soviet period and in the immediate post-Perestroika years more prescriptive and strongly standardized models prevailed, paying close attention not only to linguistic features, but also to the bureaucraticinstitutional and cultural context of the country. With the onset of socioeconomic transformation, however, there emerged a gradual shift toward a more communicative approach, aimed at developing oral, pragmatic and negotiation skills. Most recent textbooks have finally revealed a growing focus on the intercultural dimension and the stylistic-functional variability of Business Russian, emphasizing how this variety, too, has come to be characterized by the interplay between norm and usage, between prescriptiveness and an increasing openness toward adopting a less rigid linguistic approach. This aspect is also important from a language teaching perspective.

Il presente lavoro si colloca nell’ambito degli studi sulla didattica delle lingue speciali, prestando attenzione, nello specifico, all’insegnamento del russo commerciale come lingua straniera nel periodo compreso tra la Perestrojka e l’epoca contemporanea. L’obiettivo del contributo è duplice: da un lato, esso intende mettere in luce i cambiamenti intervenuti nella concezione e negli usi della lingua oggetto d’analisi; dall’altro, vuole ricostruire l’evoluzione delle scelte glottodidattiche con cui, nel tempo, è stata presentata una varietà linguistica caratterizzata da un elevato grado di standardizzazione sul piano lessicale, morfosintattico, strutturale e pragmatico. Questo considerando anche il rapporto esistente tra il concetto di professionalizzazione dell’istruzione e la didattica delle lingue speciali. Attraverso un approccio storico-descrittivo applicato ad un corpus di manuali per apprendenti stranieri, pubblicati in Russia e in Italia, il contributo evidenzia come nella fase tardo-sovietica e nell’immediato post-Perestrojka siano prevalsi modelli più prescrittivi, fortemente standardizzati, molto attenti non solo agli aspetti linguistici, ma anche al contesto burocratico-istituzionale e culturale del paese. Con l’avvio dei processi di trasformazione socio-economica si è assistito, invece, al progressivo sviluppo di un approccio più comunicativo, orientato alla valorizzazione di competenze orali, pragmatiche e negoziali. La manualistica più recente ha evidenziato, infine, una crescente attenzione alla dimensione interculturale e alla variabilità stilistico-funzionale della lingua russa d’affari, sottolineando come anche questa varietà sia ormai caratterizzata dalla commistione tra norma e uso, tra prescrittività e crescente disponibilità ad un minor grado di rigidità linguistica, aspetto questo che assume rilievo anche in ottica glottodidattica.
