A 5-week-old male Dalmatian was referred for suspected urethral obstruction. Imaging revealed multiple urinary bladder and urethral uroliths composed predominantly of ammonium urate. Genetic testing confirmed homozygosity for the SLC2A9 mutation associated with hereditary hyperuricosuria in this breed. The patient was managed conservatively with medical therapy, a balanced low-purine diet formulated for growth, and regular monitoring. This case highlights the importance of including hereditary hyperuricosuria among the differential diagnoses for urate urolithiasis, even in very young dogs.
