Web 2.0 has reconfigured the context in which doctor-patient interac-tions take place and has fostered new communicative practices to curb hoaxes, share reliable content and show the more personal side of doctors as a step towards the humanisation of medicine and the strengthening of the relationship with the patient or companion, as is the case in paediatrics. We analysed two profiles of paediatricians on Instagram in order to detect the discursive strategies used to create affiliative ties with their followers. The results show that the professionals relate closely and emotionally with the public in order to identify with them and, at the same time, promote and sell their products.

Abstract

La web 2.0 ha reconfigurado el contexto en el que se desarrollan las in-teracciones entre médico y paciente, y ha fomentado nuevas prácticas comunicativas para frenar los bulos, compartir contenido fiable y mostrar la faceta más personal de los médicos como paso hacia la humanización de la medicina y el fortalecimiento de la relación con el paciente o el acompañante, como ocurre en pediatría. Analizamos dos perfiles de pediatras en Instagram con el propósito de detectar las estrategias discursivas utilizadas para crear lazos afiliativos con las seguidoras. De los resultados emerge que las profesionales se relacionan de forma cercana y emotiva con el público para identificarse con él y, al mismo tiempo, promocionar y vender sus productos.
