The increasing digitalization of economies has highlighted the importance of digital transformation and how it can help businesses stay competitive in the market. These changes also have environmental, social and institutional implications. In this sense, digital transformation has fundamentally altered business and its relationship with customers and society. It is a multidimensional, enterprise-wide, integrated re-imagination and ongoing change process designed to elevate the end-to-end customer experience. However, this technological evolution also has effects on companies, and on listed companies in particular. Therefore, this paper intends to analyze the effects resulting from the implementation of technology within companies, focusing attention on the exercise of the right to vote and on the benefits that derive from the use of blockchain in the shareholders’ meetings of listed companies.
