The chapter examines international sports jurisdiction, distinguishing internal sports justice from sports arbitration in the strict sense. It focuses on the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) as an independent arbitral body capable of producing effects beyond the sports system and within national legal orders. The analysis outlines the structure, functions, and procedures of the CAS, including ordinary arbitration, appeal arbitration, and the Anti-Doping Division. Particular attention is paid to the international circulation and recognition of CAS awards under the New York Convention. The chapter argues that CAS represents a cornerstone of glo.bal sports governance, contributing to the development of a transnational sports law system

Il capitolo analizza la giurisdizione sportiva internazionale, distinguendo tra giustizia sportiva interna e arbitrato sportivo in senso proprio. Viene approfondito il ruolo del Tribunale Arbitrale dello Sport (TAS) quale meccanismo arbitrale indipendente e alternativo alla giurisdizione statale, capace di produrre effetti anche negli ordinamenti nazionali. L’autore esamina struttura, funzioni e procedure del TAS, con particolare attenzione all’arbitrato ordinario, all’arbitrato d’appello e alla Anti-Doping Division. Spazio è dedicato alla circolazione internazionale dei lodi TAS e al loro riconoscimento ai sensi della Convenzione di New York. Il contributo evidenzia come il TAS rappresenti un elemento di chiusura ed efficacia del sistema sportivo globale, fondato su un diritto sportivo transnazionale.
