In 1973, Dimitrios G. Tsamis published an article in Byzantina on the monk and polemist David Dishypatos, who was active in Thessaloniki at the beginning of the so-called Palamite controversy (mid-14th century). This paper aims to reassess our knowledge of the life of Dishypatos, providing a new interpretation and more precise chronology of one of his early works, the Iambi against Akindynos' verses.

Abstract
