The paper has an exploratory orientation and aims to discuss some implications that arise in local authorities from the implementation of the public governance paradigm, focusing on the new managerial skills needed, on organizational structures and on areas of performance evaluation for public managers’ work. More specifically, it highlights how the implementation of the public governance paradigm entails new soft skills and new performance indicators for public managers’ evaluation and calls for modern organizational struc- tures able to foster effective and non-extemporaneous stakeholders’ management, as well as a full governance of the accountability cycle.

Il presente lavoro si propone in chiave esplorativa di discutere alcune implicazioni che l'attuazione del paradigma della public governance negli enti locali ha sulle competenze manageriali emergenti, sui fabbisogni organizzativi e sulle nuove aree di valutazione dell'operato del management pubblico. In particolare, viene illustrato come l'attuazione della public governance comporti una modifica nel sistema di competenze e valutazione del management pubblico ed imponga delle innovazioni organizzative in grado di favorire stabili ed efficaci relazioni con le differenti categorie di stakeholders ed un pieno governo dell'intero ciclo di accountability. Abstract
