The changes of the geopolitical scenario, which are significantly influencing the markets at a global level, lead to carefully reflect on the efficacy of the European industrial policy in pursuing the double objective of ensuring the enterprises’ competitiveness and, at the same time, of being in line with the green policies of the Union. This paper focuses on the initiatives of the EU in the search of a compromise between the objectives of the ecological transition and the need of supporting the competitiveness of European companies, including the recent Communication A Competitiveness Compass for the EU.

I mutamenti negli assetti geopolitici che stanno profondamente influenzando i mercati globali impongono un’attenta riflessione sulla capacità della politica industriale europea di perseguire il duplice obiettivo di garantire la competitività delle impresee, allo stesso tempo, di essere compatibile al completamento della transizione ecologica. L’articolo si concentra sulle iniziative intraprese dall’Unione europea per cercare di trovare un equilibrio tra l’esigenza di perseguire gli obiettivi della transizione ecologica e il supporto alla competitività delle imprese europee, compresa la recente Comunicazione A Competitiveness Compass for the EU.
