Medieval Waldenses represent a radical religious community scattered in a broad alpine space and lasting centuries before adherence to Reform. Their peculiar characteristic is to keep close to Holy Scriptures. This means cultural and social strategies and practices not only to translate the Holy Word, but also to transmit it. The barba, that is to say the itinerant preachers, were the point of connection of the communities, but also the target of the inquisitors as shown in the judicial trials survived.
