MOMO (Music, Outsider Art, Movement, Open Studio) is a multidisciplinary centre in Kyoto exploring the therapeutic and identity-forming potential of creative practices. Combining visual arts, music, and movement, MOMO offers inclusive programmes that enhance physical, psychological, and social well-being. Its person-centred approach values individual expression within collective experience, fostering co-creation and mutual growth. Grounded in WHO’s IASC framework, MOMO integrates research and practice to develop adaptable methods for community and post-crisis contexts. The project aims to establish a model of sustainable art-based well-being and international collaboration – where creativity becomes a peaceful instrument of inclusion and shared humanity.
