Child and adolescent abuse is a significant public health issue that affects millions of youths globally. Despite being a universal issue, different countries have different approaches to responding to maltreatment. This paper examines through a systematic literature review the similarities and differences in the legal frameworks, policy, and practices of two of the most up-to-date management protocols for child abuse from the UK and the USA. A comparative analysis of data and literature on child and adolescent abuse in both countries has been performed to evaluate the effectiveness of their approaches. Findings suggest that while both countries have developed comprehensive legal frameworks and policies to address child maltreatment, their implementation and execution differ significantly. The UK approach emphasizes multiagency collaboration and early intervention, while the USA approach is more focused on law enforcement and child protection services. The paper concludes with recommendations for the improvement of the child welfare system and how other countries can learn and be inspired by these advances, as it is of utmost importance that all of them have the proper management protocols in place for the early detection and treatment of all forms of maltreatment.
