The presentation summarizes the state of the art of the work of WG3 of the COST Action LIFT, which is carrying out a survey among different types of stakeholders (beef cattle, dairy cattle, small ruminants, pigs, poultry) about their perception of positive animal welfare (PAW) and about their opinion on the feasibility and acceptability of a range of positive indicators. Transference of results from academia to farms is crucial to achieve a change in practice. PAW is not widely acknowledged yet. The concept needs to be disseminated among all stakeholders. Understanding the stakeholders’ needs and perceptions will facilitate an active engagement of all of them. Results from stakeholder consultation will help to define the most relevant and feasible indicators of PAW to be implemented.
