The legislation of whistleblowing, originally introduced in Italy between 2012-2017, has now been fully amended by Legislative Decree No. 24 of March 10, 2023, following the transposition of EU Directive No. 1937 of October 23, 2019. The essay emphasizes the labour perspective of the new regulation aimed at developing a culture of legality in the workplaces and protecting from retaliation those workers who decide to avail themselves of the reporting channels provided (internal, external and through so-called public disclosures).
