This article analyses Ortensio Lando's Sermoni funebri, first published anonymously in Venice in 1548. Looking beyond the anti-classical categories that now define Lando's output, the aim here is to question the recreational writing of which the Sermoni are a precious testimony in several directions. We propose to verify the value of this rhetoric by analysing the first French translation of Lando's work, the Harangues funèbres, which appeared in Lyon in 1569, written by Claude de Pontoux.

Abstract
This article analyses Ortensio Lando's Sermoni funebri, first published anonymously in Venice in 1548. Looking beyond the anti-classical categories that now define Lando's output, the aim here is to question the recreational writing of which the Sermoni are a precious testimony in several directions. We propose to verify the value of this rhetoric by analysing the first French translation of Lando's work, the Harangues funèbres, which appeared in Lyon in 1569, written by Claude de Pontoux.Pubblicazioni consigliate
