Through the lives of three members of the Breganze family—Giacomo (1773–1835), Luigi (1831–1898), and Giovanni (1866–1936)—this volume offers a compelling reinterpretation of modern Italian history, tracing its political, social, and cultural developments from 1796 to 1922.
