Abstract
The Peripatetic study of perishable life consisted of separate studies of animals and plants. This essay is concerned with the prospects as well as the limits of this approach. The limits become especially evident when one reflects on perishable life as such. While Aristotle and Theophrastus are committed to systematic, and theoretically informed, studies of animals and plants, they have surprisingly little to say about them qua perishable living beings.Pubblicazioni consigliate
