Debt advice in Europe: a search of the good practices to fight over-indebtedness

Purpose: This paper provides an overview of the current state of debt advice services and good practices in Europe. Design/methodology/approach: We examine how debt advice services are organised in different European countries and how they can be used to address the phenomenon of over-indebtedness. Findings: Debt advice services seem to be varied and fragmented. There are few good practices that stand out, while in some countries there are no services available at all.
