Rimskij mif o Nume i Egerii na russkoj Počve (vtoraja polovina XVIII - načalo XIX vv.)

The paper illustrates the salient features of the myth of Numa Pompilius, the second king of Rome, to whom it owed the main religious institutions, and in particular the anthropological and political significance of the (alleged) presence at his side of the nymph Egeria. Amongst the many literary and artistic works that used it to glorify and instruct sovereigns between the mid-18th and the first decade of the 19th century, the Russian ones, starting with Numa Pompilius, ili procvetajuščij Rim by M.M. Cheraskov, stand out for the minor role assigned to the Nymph, in comparison to the deified Russian legislators Peter and especially Catherine.

La relazione illustra i tratti salienti del mito di Numa Pompilio, il secondo re di Roma, cui risalgono le principali istituzioni religiose, e in particolare il significato antropologico e politico della (pretesa) presenza al suo fianco della Ninfa Egeria. Tra le molte opere letterarie e artistiche che lo utilizzano per glorificare e ammaestrare i sovrani tra la metà del XVIII e il primo decennio del XIX sec. quelle russe, a partire da Numa Pompilio, ili procvetajuščij Rim di M.M. Cheraskov, si distinguono per il ruolo minore assegnato alla Ninfa, a paragone dei divinizzati legislatori russi Pietro e soprattutto Caterina.
