Wilhelm Dilthey e il secondo mondo della letteratura

The paper proposes a theoretical framework concerning Wilhelm Dilthey's reflection on literature. We will discuss the methodological proposal of the Poetik of 1887 and the way in which the literary work is conceived in the writings of the maturity following 1905, when the Diltheyan theory of knowledge is revised based on the relationship between Erleben, Expression and Understanding. It will thus be noted how Dilthey from his mid-to-mature phase of thought passes from a proposal for a normative study of the imaginative faculty to a descriptive discourse on the cognitive potential that the literary work reserves for relating to a subjective experience further than the personal one, based on the relevance attributed in his last writings to the concept of Reproducing Understanding.

L’articolo presenta un inquadramento teorico riguardante la riflessione di Wilhelm Dilthey sulla letteratura. Si discuterà, in particolare, della proposta metodologica della Poetik del 1887 e della concezione dell’opera letteraria che compare negli scritti della maturità successivi al 1905, quando la teoria della conoscenza diltheyana è aggiornata sulla base del rapporto fra Erleben, espressione e comprensione. Si noterà in tal modo come Dilthey, dalla sua fase di riflessione mediana a quella matura, passi da un proposito di studio normativo della facoltà immaginativa a un discorso descrittivo sulle potenzialità conoscitive che l’opera letteraria riserva per relazionarsi a un’esperienza soggettiva ulteriore rispetto a quella personale, sulla scorta della rilevanza attribuita nei suoi ultimi scritti al concetto di comprensione riproducente.
