Solidarietà come riconoscimento della differenza

The paper focuses on the definition of solidarity proposed by Volpe. Taking the perspective of the sociology of culture, it looks at solidarity as a form of meaningful social action. It thus highlights how solidarity in contemporary societies requires a recognition of difference that arises from emotional closeness and the sharing of an image of the world rather than from rational evaluations or reciprocity assumptions. In this sense, solidarity is also always an action aimed at reducing injustice, by contesting aspects of existence that are considered unfair
