This article focuses on resilience discourse in the EU and it sets out to address the following aims: the construction of a concise conceptual history of resilience discourse within the EU – from first definitions (ca. 2012) to the creation of a comprehensive resilience framework (ca. 2020); the description of the lexicalisation of resilience in EU terminological work, with particular reference to COVID-19-related terminology. To that end, it firstly traces the shifting semantics of the term “resilience” in time. Secondly, it highlights the growing ubiquity of the concept in EU policymaking. Thirdly, it investigates the conceptual and terminological relationship between EU resilience discourses and IATE’s Multilingual COVID-19 Terminology.

Abstract
This article focuses on resilience discourse in the EU and it sets out to address the following aims: the construction of a concise conceptual history of resilience discourse within the EU – from first definitions (ca. 2012) to the creation of a comprehensive resilience framework (ca. 2020); the description of the lexicalisation of resilience in EU terminological work, with particular reference to COVID-19-related terminology. To that end, it firstly traces the shifting semantics of the term “resilience” in time. Secondly, it highlights the growing ubiquity of the concept in EU policymaking. Thirdly, it investigates the conceptual and terminological relationship between EU resilience discourses and IATE’s Multilingual COVID-19 Terminology.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
