Abstract
This paper presents the preliminary results of the excavations carried out in the area of Dragoncello (Acilia, Roma), between the Tiber and via Ostiense, during the 2023 and 2024 campaigns, within a larger ongoing project which aims to reconstruct the settlement dynamics and agricultural exploitation of the area between the Republican and Imperial periods. The recent excavation campaigns have advanced our understanding of the villa's plan, revealing previously unknown sectors. These discoveries facilitate a hypothetical reconstruction of the complex's organization, elucidating the spatial division between residential and productive areas. Moreover, ongoing stratigraphic while the study of the finds has enabled the identification of a potential prehistoric occupation of the site, as well as the delineation of successive phases of construction, renovation and abandonment of the Villa A, from the Republican period through Late Antiquity.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
