Dudas y certezas sobre la solidaridad intergeneracional en el sistema de pensiones en Italia = Doubts and certainties about intergenerational solidarity in the pension system in Italy

The article aims to explore the meaning of the principle of intergenerational solidarity in the pension system, starting from the identification of the constitutional value of the obligation of social solidarity between generations and then moving on to the analysis of possible criteria for its implementation. After reconstructing the various opinions that have also inspired the debate on the subject, the article examines the consistency of the pension discipline with respect to intergenerational solidarity and the role that this principle has assumed in the pronouncements with which the Italian Constitutional Court has assessed the constitutional legitimacy of recent legislative interventions to contain pension expenditure.
