Internationalismen in transnational geführten Diskursen der Online-Enzyklopädie Wikipedia

This paper studies word-formation products with the word-formation elements -phobie (DE, FR)/ -fobia (IT)/ and -phobia (EN, SP) as well as -manie (DE, FR) /-mania (EN, IT, SP) in five different languages (German, English, French, Italian, and Spanish). As these elements occur in several languages, they can be classified as internationalisms. In each of the languages analysed, there are not only technical language but also common language word-formation products. As a special case of common language word-formation products, wikipedia-specific wordformation products are considered, which can be regarded as units of transnational discourses for quality assurance in collaborative text production on Wikipedia’s talk pages. For the corpus study, this paper uses the Wikipedia corpora of the Leibniz Institute for the German Language, which allow the cross-linguistic comparison of word-formation products. Finally, this paper represents a contribution to the emerging field of discourse morphology because it tests word-formation elements as an approach to discourse.
