Storia e storicismo nel pensiero comunista del dopoguerra : Una riflessione sul Togliatti di «Rinascita»

The relationship between the Italian Communist Party and History has been crucial throughout the whole party’s experience, and especially during the Togliatti’s leadership. Indeed, the study of the past (of the international labor movement, but also the Italian national history) has been at the core of the party’s cultural policy. The essay aims at investigating the communist construction of an “official” history using different media (schools, publishing, and press – especially the theoretical magazine, «Rinascita»), thus the political and identity function of this discourse.
