Notas sobre la noción de Abiayala. Genealogías gunadule, usos globales y brechas decoloniales.

The essay outlines a state of the art on the academic uses of the notion Abiayala (or Abya Yala) to refer to the (Latin)American continent and on the semantic trajectories of the term among contemporary Gunadule cultures. A comparative analysis is proposed between the meanings assigned to Abiayala in the decolonial sphere, critical readings on its uses and the political-aesthetic elaboration of the category in contemporary Guna intellectual and poetic production (Patricia Sue Haglund, Abadio Green Stocel, Aiban Wagua and Milton Santacruz). In this order of ideas, the article explores some of the multiple interpretive possibilities, epistemic tensions and horizons of meaning of the word, both in the cultural context of Amerindian narratives and epistemologies and in the development of decolonial studies’ trajectories.
