The essay aims to define the term "solarscape" and map its usage in the field of photovoltaic energy for the purpose of standardization. "Solarscape" is first analyzed in context and its meaning drawn from specialist texts: the collection of these data forms the basis for a formal definition and for the production of a terminological entry. Secondly, "solarscape" is analyzed as a complex term (a compound noun): its formal characteristics are investigated by closely observing its two component parts, the adjective/noun "solar" and the combining form "-scape".
