There is a growing trend in contemporary analytic philosophy to engage in non-ideal theorizing, i.e. to develop theories that programmatically do without certain traditional idealizations. While this trend originated in political and moral philosophy, it has recently taken off in several philosophical areas, including epistemology and philosophy of language. This Introduction offers a quick guided tour into non-ideal philosophy and provides an outline of the structure and contents of this Special Issue of Rivista di Filosofia.

Abstract
There is a growing trend in contemporary analytic philosophy to engage in non-ideal theorizing, i.e. to develop theories that programmatically do without certain traditional idealizations. While this trend originated in political and moral philosophy, it has recently taken off in several philosophical areas, including epistemology and philosophy of language. This Introduction offers a quick guided tour into non-ideal philosophy and provides an outline of the structure and contents of this Special Issue of Rivista di Filosofia.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
