La rinascita in Warburg tra sguardo e racconto

Warburg’s idea of ‘renaissance’ is here analyzed through a few unedited texts, that could be investigated thanks to a fellowship from the Accademia dei Lincei and thanks to the Warburg Institute Archive’s hospitality. We know that Warburg’s idea of Renaissance owns much to Jacob Burckhardt. But Warburg’s interpretation of Burckhardt has been confined up to now to the famous Nietzsche-Burckhardt conference, whereas other and slightly different sugges- tions may be found in the still unattended notes for the Burckhardt seminars. Warburg’s reading of Goethe, and of Gottfried Keller, developed in some Kreuzlingen notes, could also contribute to disclose new aspects.
