The aim of the essay is to reflect on the links between the program/prefiguration of society and its structuring in the space through specific urban model and form. Within the framework of this relationship, it is to investigate the reasons, values and limits of the multiple declinations about the “right size”, that the culture of regional and urban planning and governance offered. “Right size” as a crucial asset, like an obligatory need, for social and political legitimation of disciplines.
