In this paper, we describe three interdisciplinary workshop proposals and three educational games between natural sciences and mathematics that have been developed and tested with groups of students from 11 to 14 years old; we used a plurality of innovative laboratory methodologies such as learning by doing, hands-on approach, object-based learning, and educational games to promote active and meaningful learning in STEM disciplines, testing the results by means of a satisfaction survey among both students and teachers.

Abstract

In this paper, we describe three interdisciplinary workshop proposals and three educational games between natural sciences and mathematics that have been developed and tested with groups of students from 11 to 14 years old; we used a plurality of innovative laboratory methodologies such as learning by doing, hands-on approach, object-based learning, and educational games to promote active and meaningful learning in STEM disciplines, testing the results by means of a satisfaction survey among both students and teachers.
