We provide an overview of the calculi developed in eighteenth-century Europe, outlining the plurality of versions of the calculus adopted by European mathematicians in that period, highlighting also the fragmentation of Newtonian and the Leibnizian heritages into several strands that gave rise to various debates and conflicts.
