The Essay provides a comparative inquiry on the regulation of labor in the sports field in Italy and in the USA. The goal is not to highlight the inevitable differences between the two systems, but rather to sight the common grounds and to trace a link between the overall employment and labour law regulation and the specific rules for the sports fields in each system. Ultimately, the A. claims that those differences showcase the peculiar set of values which mark the approach of the individuals towards competiton in the two contexts

Il contributo offre uno sguardo comparato sulla disciplina del lavoro sportivo in Italia e negli Stati Uniti. Lo scopo non è di portare alla luce le – inevitabili – differenze tra i due sistemi, bensì di individuare le comuni linee di tendenza, all’interno degli stessi, tra la regolazione giuslavoristica generale e l’assetto delle regole vigenti in ambito sportivo, le quali, sostiene l’A., non costituiscono altro che il riflesso dei valori che, nei singoli ordinamenti, ispirano i rapporti tra gli individui e la competizione (sportiva e non).
