Note sul riuso dell'epica classica nella poesia del secondo Settecento. Il "Giorno" di Parini e gli "Amori" di Savioli [Notes on the Reuse of Classical Epic in Second Eighteenth-Century Poetry. Parini's Day and Savioli's The Love]

This paper proposes a reflection on the revival of the classical epic in the poetry of the second half of the eighteenth century by providing an examination of the re-use of ancient motifs and images in Savioli's Amori and Parini's Giorno. . In a century in which the epic genre was not very popular, there was indeed a remarkable recovery of classicism not only from a linguistic and syntactic point of view, but also from a thematic one, as testified, among other things, by the frequent revival of mythological images. Within this framework, the investigation tries to identify the forms of recovery and reuse of the classical epic tradition. These forms are often identifiable with the reinterpretation of scenes not only in an encomiastic key, which is the most common, but also in an ironic and satirical, or even metaphorical manner, sometimes to embellish scenes of pronounced eighteenth-century style.

L’intervento propone una riflessione sulle riprese dell’epica classica nella poesia del secondo Settecento attraverso un’indagine sulla ricontestualizzazione di motivi e immagini negli Amori di Savioli e nel Giorno di Parini. In un secolo in cui il genere fu molto poco praticato si assistette tuttavia a un massiccio recupero della classicità non soltanto sotto l’aspetto linguistico e sintattico, ma anche tematico, con frequente ripresa di immagini mitologiche. Entro questo quadro lo studio condotto ha cercato di individuare le forme di recupero e di riuso dell’epica classica, spesso identificabili con la ripresa di scene risemantizzate in chiave non solo più comunemente encomiastica, ma anche ironica e satirica, o ancora metaforica, talvolta impiegate per impreziosire scene di marcato gusto settecentesco.
