The article presents Leone Allacci’s unpublished Notae to the Greek inscriptions known as Monumentum Adulitanum. After briefly presenting the inscriptions and the history of their interpretation, the article focuses on Allacci’s role in this history as editor princeps, and then analyzes his unpublished contribution, illustrating the contents of the Notae and focusing on some specific passages. The aim is to expose a new piece of Allacci’s scholarship, which allows us to further analyze his approach to Classical literature.
