Unpleasant odours are the most frequent reason for complaints in urban and industrial areas. In recent years, problems linked to odour pollution have been a big concern due to the population increase in many urban areas. These pollutants come from food production companies, pharmaceuticals and pesticides, biogas plants, animal and human waste, animal feed production, and the plastic industry. In this work, the effect of enhanced photocatalysts, for the decomposition of propionic acid, as one of the main organic compounds responsible for the unpleasant odours, under the visible light, was studied.
