Tesserae nummulariae da Pompei. Un approccio contestuale

The past few years have seen a renewed scholarly interest in the tesserae nummulariae, a class of objects whose function is still debated. Generally, scholars have focused their attention on the epigraphy of the tesserae, neglecting the archaeological data (when available). Two tesserae nummulariae from Pompeii represent an outstanding case to show the potentiality of a holistic approach to this kind of objects.
