This introduction locates the articles included in the dossier within the framework of theoret- ical discourses relevant to the ongoing publication of literary works about migrant children and youth, both Central American and Mexican. In addition, the articles consider the place these literary works oc- cupy within the field of literature as well as the place their authors occupy within the realm of publishing generally. In this sense, categories like “canon” and “counter canon” come into play as evidence of the complex articulation of the literary field (Bourdieu) with respect to this specific corpus of texts. Likewise, the articles consider the status of academic textual production in Central America, Mexico and the United States, and they scrutinize, in particular, central categories such as “infancy,” “childhood” and “youth".

Abstract
This introduction locates the articles included in the dossier within the framework of theoret- ical discourses relevant to the ongoing publication of literary works about migrant children and youth, both Central American and Mexican. In addition, the articles consider the place these literary works oc- cupy within the field of literature as well as the place their authors occupy within the realm of publishing generally. In this sense, categories like “canon” and “counter canon” come into play as evidence of the complex articulation of the literary field (Bourdieu) with respect to this specific corpus of texts. Likewise, the articles consider the status of academic textual production in Central America, Mexico and the United States, and they scrutinize, in particular, central categories such as “infancy,” “childhood” and “youth".File | Dimensione | Formato | |
