The work aims to investigate an only seemingly peripheral aspect of Nazi ’madness’. The Aryan race cult is represented through art. The classical canon of artistic perfection is thus put at the service of both political and ideological interests. Hitler’s right-hand man, Hermann Göring, organizes a plunder of monumental proportions whose sole purpose is to satisfy his desire for power. He, impersonating ’the contradictions and ruthlessness’ of the Regime, best represented its excesses. Greed and imperturbable decision, the instinct for the hunt, were grafted onto an undeniable aesthetic sensibility, at the origin of a true and boundless pillage of subjugated Reich France. Only an intern, without steady employment or salary, manages to reconstruct this tragedy through a catalog written beyond enemy lines.
