Digital profiling in religious matters is widely used for commercial purposes, for propaganda and proselytism activities, and for the prevention of religiously motivated terrorist attacks. Abstract

Digital profiling in religious matters is widely used for commercial purposes, for propaganda and proselytism activities, and for the prevention of religiously motivated terrorist attacks. The latter activity requires balancing the public need for security with the protection of the inalienable rights of the person subjected to profiling. The paper highlights the risks associated with this profiling activity, while at the same time examining whether the legislation in force can achieve the public purpose without prejudice to the individual.
