Caratteristiche morfolessicali del cinese medico-scientifico

In recent years, the growing social needs highlighted by patients of foreign origin with regard to accessing and availing themselves of adequate medical care within the Italian National Health Service have led sociolinguists and health professionals to take an interest in the language of medicine, focusing on the formal and relational aspects which concern communication between specialist and patient. However, in the face of a conspicuous number of Chinese-speaking immigrants residing in Italy, contributions revolving around the study of the Chinese language for medical purposes are still scarce. This paper aims to analyze the morpholexical features of Medical Chinese in order to lay the foundations for the development of didactic supports which can be used for the training of linguistic and cultural mediators capable of fostering the health integration of patients of Chinese origin.
