This article presents an overview of the evidence obtained at Helawa, one of two sites in- vestigated by the Italian Archaeological Expedition in the Erbil Plain (MAIPE). It is an irregular 22 m high mound lying in a bend of a watercourse, with a steep slope to the south and west, and two sloping extensions to the north and east, covering an area of about 10 ha.
