"Un discorso sull'uomo" : pratiche teatrali e artistiche secondo la Compagnia della Fortezza

Over the past decade prison theatre, situated within the broader realm of social theatre, thanks to fruitful experimentations, has developed into a complex landscape, typically animated by different approaches within it. Taking into account such a contex, this study focuses on the repertoire of the Compagnia della Fortezza, a pioneer in the sector, founded and directed by Armando Punzo at the Prison of Volterra since 1988. At the core of the analysis are the techniques experimented by Punzo with a group active in and around prisons for over three decades, in an uninterrupted collaboration that materialized in numerous important productions on the national and international contemporary scene.
