This paper presents the preliminary results of the study of the fnds discovered during the 1970s in the seabed of Aenaria/Cartaromana, a Roman-era context located in the eastern area of the island of Ischia. The new study is part of the Archeologia e ambiente del le ‘isole di storia’ del Tirreno: il caso di Ischia project. The activitiesstarted in 2022, on the basis of previousstudies conducted on the island by the Immensa Aequora project (www.immensaaequora.org). The data emerging from the study of the ceramics highlights a lively frequentation of the site, in particular from the late Republican age until the 1st century ad, when the area seems to have been abandoned. Furthermore, isotopic analyses are ongoing on some metallic fnds from the context aimed at understanding and comparing their nature and origin. Another aim is to de peen the knowledge of mineral resources and production activities connected to metals during the Roman era in Ischia.
