Una sposa in viaggio : Le nozze di Maria Antonia Ferdinanda di Borbone con Vittorio Amedeo III di Savoia (Madrid-Torino 1750)

The contribution focuses on the journey that the newlyweds Maria Antonia Ferdinanda di Borbone and Vittorio Amedeo di Savoia, the future King of Sardinia third of the name, made in May 1750, leaving respectively from Madrid and Turin, in view of their wedding, celebrated in Oulx on the 31st of that same month. An anonymous report from Turin renders with vividness and abundance of detail the account of the stages travelled by the two royal processions: in portraying the main ceremonial and cultural aspects, it captures the plot of a dynastic union that, in the pacified Europe of post-Aachen (1748), after more than a century renewed the alliance between Spain and the Savoy dynasty.
