The late and final neolithic Site of Castelnuovo di Teolo (Padua). New data - The excavations conducted in 2011 in the site of Castelnuovo di Teolo (Padua), located on the eastern side of Mount Pendice (Euganean Hills), revealed an important archaeological deposit, with layers dating back mainly to the Late and Final Neolithic. More sporadic evidence is related to the Bronze and Middle Ages, documented by a few artifacts in the upper levels of the deposit. The materials that have been brought to light, despite the small size of the trial trenches, are very relevant, and consists of pottery, animal bones, daub – sometimes bearing the impressions of wood poles -, lithic and bone artefacts, thus demonstrating a stable occupation of the site during the last centuries of the fifth millennium BC, as confirmed by some new radiocarbon datings as well.

Abstract
The late and final neolithic Site of Castelnuovo di Teolo (Padua). New data - The excavations conducted in 2011 in the site of Castelnuovo di Teolo (Padua), located on the eastern side of Mount Pendice (Euganean Hills), revealed an important archaeological deposit, with layers dating back mainly to the Late and Final Neolithic. More sporadic evidence is related to the Bronze and Middle Ages, documented by a few artifacts in the upper levels of the deposit. The materials that have been brought to light, despite the small size of the trial trenches, are very relevant, and consists of pottery, animal bones, daub – sometimes bearing the impressions of wood poles -, lithic and bone artefacts, thus demonstrating a stable occupation of the site during the last centuries of the fifth millennium BC, as confirmed by some new radiocarbon datings as well.Pubblicazioni consigliate
